We are currently in the final stages of the proposed Oak Spring Road bridge project.
The contractor for Oak Spring Road bridge has a contract with the State of Illinois that carries through September 2025, although the project team has been working diligently to complete all remaining tasks and plans to open the bridge to the public as soon as it is safe to do so.
At this time, it is estimated that the contractor will complete the remaining work and have the Oak Spring Road bridge open to traffic by mid-July, pending unforeseen circumstances.
Many factors influence the timeline, including the sourcing of materials, custom components, the scheduling of various contractors, worker safety, and weather conditions. As we get closer to the completion of this project, the bridge reopening date will be shared on this website.
